Objective

The HR Officer will support the Human Resources department in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of HR services. The role involves providing administrative support, handling employee relations, assisting with recruitment and onboarding, and ensuring compliance with company policies and employment law. The HR Officer will act as a point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and provide support across a range of HR functions.

 

Key Areas of Responsibility

  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Assist in the recruitment process, including preparing job descriptions, posting job advertisements, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
    • Conduct background checks and reference verifications for new hires.
    • Facilitate the onboarding process for new employees, including preparing offer letters, contracts, and conducting orientation sessions.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Act as the first point of contact for employee queries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • HR Administration:
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in HR databases and personnel files.
    • Manage employee leave requests, attendance tracking, and time-off records.
    • Prepare HR-related documents such as employment contracts, letters of recommendation, and notices.
    • Ensure compliance with labor laws and internal company policies.
  • Performance Management:
    • Support the implementation and monitoring of the employee performance evaluation process.
    • Help managers and employees navigate the performance review system and provide guidance where needed.
  • Training and Development:
    • Coordinate training sessions and professional development activities.
    • Identify skill gaps and recommend relevant training programs to support employee growth.
    • Keep records of training attendance and feedback.
  • Compensation and Benefits:
    • Assist in the administration of employee benefits programs, such as health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness initiatives.
    • Provide employees with information on compensation and benefits inquiries.
  • Compliance and Reporting:
    • Ensure all HR activities comply with local labor laws and regulations.
    • Prepare reports related to HR metrics such as employee turnover, absenteeism, and performance.

Placement in the Organization

Reports to the CEO of Xyall.

 

Requirements

  • Likes to work for a start-up company; flexibility in such an environment is required
  • Good analytical skills and professional communication in English and Dutch
  • Result driven; “get things done” mentality
  • Work accurately and consistent
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • This position offers flexible working hours, ranging between 24 and 40 hours per week. The schedule can be tailored to accommodate individual needs, subject to agreement with the CEO and the operational requirements at Xyall.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Several years of experience in HR or a similar role.
